December 6th, today, is write a letter to Santa. We are going to see Santa on Tuesday so we better write our letter for him already. The activity for today was for us to sleep under the Christmas tree tonight but with both Oliver and I having a cold and me pink eye we better push that one off a bit.
You might notice that Oliver is in the same clothes as day five's but that is because we took pictures of yesterday's garland and put it on the tree tonight although he made it on day 5.
When asking Oliver what he wants for Christmas he has said for the last few weeks a fishing pole. I don't know why he wants a fishing pole and neither Shawn nor I, or even the Grandparents are avid fishermen. The only thing I can think of is that Grandma Shirley takes him to the park in Elkader by the Turkey River and he must see people fishing. It took us a few tries at coloring a picture as he still just wants to scribble and make poke-a-dots but he did pretty well in the end.
Since he of course cannot write words yet, he drew a picture of a fishing pole and some fish and signed it with an O. I helped him write the rest of his name holding onto the marker with him.
