I'd been working on this Advent Calendar since last year before Christmas and finished it this year exactly on December 1st. It is made of mostly felt and fleece and all free-form pictures that I cut out and glued/sewed on. The inspiration came from Pinterest but the ones on there came from Pottery Barn and were like $75. I still do not know where to put it or hang it but at least here it is down low hanging off the speaker so Oliver can get the tags out each day.
December 1st activity was Deck the Halls so we put up our Christmas tree and decorated the house. We have an artificial tree that Oliver helped decorate and when finished he called it "beautiful."
By the time we had put the stockings up Oliver had already broken 3 ornaments. Last year he didn't hardly touch them but this year was different. Two of the ornaments broke because his favorite thing to do was to lay under the tree looking up at it.
So proud of his tree (he looks so grown up in this picture!)
That afternoon Oliver went to help Grandpa Dave and Grandma Sandy cut down their tree so he could experience the real thing of going to get a tree and cut it down.
He had to get down and see how Grandpa was cutting it down.
He didn't get to decorate their tree because it was nap time and he needed one because he slept for 3.5 hours until I went up to wake him up.
Love the picture of him looking up through the tree! And how lucky he is to go with Mom and Dad. We have to do that around Thanksgiving time when we're back sometime. I don't think Ian remembers doing it...
