Apples

Today Oliver and I went with my parents to Gays Mills, Wisconsin. I hadn't been there for 6 years since the day Shawn and I got engaged but it used to be a yearly tradition with my parents when I was a child.

After the scenic drive of beautiful SW Wisconsin and the changing colors of the leaves, and all the cows and tractors Oliver pointed out to us we arrived at Sunrise Orchard. It was truly a Fall day for the first day of Fall with temps in the low 40's. I should have dressed him in a winter jacket but it is too early for this bitter cold and I am resisting the cold setting in already.

Hello!

He was more excited about the crab apples on the ground than standing in front of the ruler.

When we walked in, Oliver's eyes lit up with all the apples. He had to go touch them, thankfully he didn't throw them like he does at home.

His favorite part at the Orchards was tasting the apple cider or "juice" as he called it.

We stopped at a few more Orchards looking for some delicious apple cider donuts that I remember when I was a child but things have really gone up in price since even 6 years ago. We did find some yummy donuts at the last stop. Besides apples we got some apple cider, onions, squash, and a caramel apple for Shawn.

It was a fun morning and hopefully will be a tradition for Oliver too.
