We were invited to my cousin's daughter's first birthday party today so we took advantage of being close by and stopped at my Aunt Dar and Uncle Gary's farm to see the cows and kittens. I haven't been down to see the farm buildings or animals for a few years and things have changed dramatically.
I figured that Oliver would have been scared of the cows but he wasn't. I think the cows were scared of him at first because he was jumping up and down with excitement.
It took Grandpa Dave to first touch the cows but there was no stopping Oliver after that and he wanted to pet any of them that would come close enough.
We stayed in the heifer barn and calf barn mostly to see the cows.
I cannot believe all the technology there is in milking and feeding cows these days. Much different than what I remember as a child going to different farms with my Dad and from my Grandpa and Grandma Doerscher's farm. My Aunt and Uncle are building a new building here so Oliver had to pose on the bulldozer but it wasn't a CAT. Oliver supported CAT with his hat though.
He was amazed by the big wagon and the skid loaders driving around.
Then on to the birthday party. Oliver did a good job sharing his excavator with the birthday girl who followed him around all day. Oliver didn't know what to do or think about someone following him around other than to keep running away and make a game out of it.
It was a fun morning and afternoon but a chilly and windy day. Good thing there was some yummy warm soup and of course crab salad- (my favorite) and Oliver's favorite- cake.
Thank you, now I have more pictures to give to Grandpa and Grandma. Great pictures.
